Welcome to the Cotswold Branch of the
National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies - NADFAS!
The Cotswold DFAS, founded in 1969, is an active and friendly society based in the beautiful Oxfordshire town of Burford. Meetings are held at Bradwell Village, just two miles out of the town on the A231 towards Lechlade.
The members are committed to furthering their enthusiastic interest in the decorative and fine arts and to this end organise a fascinating programme of lectures, study days, social events and visits. You will find details of all the activities for the coming year 2012/2013 in the accompanying drop files. The lectures which form the core of the programme are held ten times a year on the second Wednesday of the month and feature top quality lecturers, recommended and selected by the NADFAS organisation.
The society also encourages active participation in a range of other pursuits, including the provision of guides for historic places of interest under the volunteer programme and fostering an interest in the arts by sponsoring activities for young people.
We are a branch of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies. NADFAS is an arts-based educational charity with some 90,000 members across over 300 societies in the UK and mainland Europe. The aims of NADFAS are to provide aesthetic education for the public, the appreciation and study of decorative and fine arts and the preservation of the nation’s artistic heritage.
